I am the author of four books, including the novels Surviving the Spike and Guardians, and the short fiction collection Paris in the Twenty-First Century and Other Stories.
I have a B.A. and M.A. in Literature from Florida International University, and a Ph.D from the University of Miami, where I was a Visiting Assistant Professor in 2007. My literary criticism has appeared in journals like The Explicator and Foundation. In addition, I write and review for a number of science fiction-oriented publications, including Strange Horizons, Tangent Online and The Portal. (You can find a listing of those writings here on the site.)
I also hold a B.A. in International Relations and have published extensively on that subject. (You can find out more about this side of my work at my other blog.)
