In The News (Forrest Ackerman, Richard Morgan)

Check out this CBC appreciation of the late Forrest Ackerman, interesting not only for its recounting of his personal journey, but also its consideration of the past, present and prospects of science fiction.

Old enough to not be news strictly speaking (though if you haven't heard about it before, it's news to you, as it is to me) is this interview of author Richard K. Morgan-probably the best of the recent crop. Particularly interesting here: his thoughts on the place of short fiction in an aspiring writer's career (not really so important as commonly imagined); and the reception of his recent books in the United States, particularly Market Forces and Thirteen (including the whole "How Europeans see us" angle).
