Items of Interest ("The Madness of Scientists," New Poll on Books Most Lied About, Philip Jose Farmer)

A few items worth checking out: the blog "The Madness of Scientists" (to which I was pointed today by Ken MacLeod's The Early Days of a Better Nation, also recommended); a new poll mentioned at SFX about the books people lie about having read to impress others (to my surprise, Orwell's 1984 tops the list); and this obituary for the late, great Philip Jose Farmer. (He's most famous for his Riverworld books, but the one I recommend most strongly is The Unreasoning Mask, which deservedly made Foundation and Interzone founder David Pringle's famous list of the 100 top science fiction novels of the 20th century.)
