New in Strange Horizons (Hoshruba, Superheroes in Novels)

This week's edition kicks off the reviews with a great review of Hoshruba, Book One: The Land and the Tilism, by Muhammad Husain Jah, a mid-nineteenth century Urdu epic fantasy just translated into English by the Urdu Project.

It also offers an article by Karen Burnham on the use of superheroes in the novel (particularly at the highbrow and-dare I say it?-lit theory end of the spectrum).
