Just Out . . .
My latest, Star Wars in Context, which is just what it sounds like.
In it I look at the origins of the Star Wars saga, the impact it had on popular culture, and what its critics have had to say about.
Looking into all this I was struck by just how little explored some of its inspirations and implications have been. (Despite George Lucas' frequent references to James Bond in interviews, for example, very few seem to recognize a significant connection between the two series'--let alone appreciate just how important it was.)
The e-book edition is available now--and for a limited time, going for just 99 cents.
